What is Bullying?
Bullying is an intentional and repeated behaviour by an individual or a group that harms or intimidates another person who is perceived as vulnerable, physically, emotionally, or psychologically. It may include:
- Physical: Hitting, pushing, damaging belongings, or any form of physical aggression
- Verbal: Name-calling, insults, threats, or teasing
- Social-Emotional: Exclusion, spreading rumours, manipulating, or any behaviour that can cause emotional damage
- Cyber: Online harassment, messages, social media misuse

- School transport and events
- Field trips and activities
- Online interactions within the school community
Awareness and Practices
We actively promote:

Prevention and Education
The school adopts a proactive approach to prevent bullying through awareness, education, and capacity building.
1. Student Awareness
- Regular sessions are conducted to promote respect, empathy, and inclusion.
- Students are educated on recognizing, reporting, and responding to bullying.
- Age-appropriate guidance is provided to build social-emotional skills and resilience.
- Support systems, including counselling and mentoring, are made available to both the accused and the victim.
2. Curriculum Integration
- Anti-bullying themes are integrated into the curriculum through value education and life skills programmes; classroom discussions, assemblies, and activities; role plays, case studies, and reflective exercises.
- Emphasis is placed on ethical behaviour, digital responsibility, and conflict resolution.
3. Staff Training and Capacity Building
- Teachers and staff are trained to identify early signs of bullying, respond effectively and sensitively, and foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
- Regular workshops and orientation programmes are conducted.
4. Parent Engagement
- Parents are sensitized on recognizing behavioural changes and encouraging open communication with children.
- Collaborating with the school to address concerns.
- Guidance on appropriate responses for their children who are experiencing bullying or engaging in bullying behaviour.
Reporting Concerns
Students and parents are encouraged to report concerns through:
- Class teachers / Coordinators
- School office or official communication channels and email
- Reports will be handled sensitively and confidentially
Investigation Process
1. Initial Response
- All reported incidents will be acknowledged promptly.
- The designated authority will gather preliminary information.
2. Inquiry and Steps Taken
- A fair, impartial, and confidential inquiry will be conducted.
- Statements may be collected from the concerned students, witnesses, and staff.
- The incident will be reviewed in line with school policies and guidelines.
- Any available evidence, such as CCTV footage or social media posts, will be reviewed.
- Parents/guardians will be informed, where appropriate.
3. Outcome and Action
- Appropriate action will be determined based on the nature and severity of the incident.
- Measures may include counselling, corrective intervention, or disciplinary action.
- Follow-up monitoring will be conducted to ensure resolution and prevent recurrence.
Disciplinary Measures
Depending on the situation, measures may include:
- Counselling and guidance
- Verbal/Written Warning and parental involvement
- Restriction of privileges
- Payment Fine
- Detention/Suspension or further disciplinary action
Protection & Confidentiality
- Strict confidentiality is maintained.
- Retaliation against reporting is strictly prohibited.
