Report on Educational Visit to Vidhan Soudha

On 23rd July 2026 (Thursday), the Grade 7 students had the opportunity to visit Vidhan Soudha, Bengaluru, as part of an educational field trip. The visit was planned to help students gain a better understanding of the democratic system, the structure of the state government, and the importance of active citizenship.

As the seat of the Karnataka State Legislature, Vidhan Soudha captivated us with its majestic architecture, grand pillars, and well-maintained surroundings. A knowledgeable guide introduced us to the significance of this iconic building and explained how the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council meet here to discuss important issues, frame policies, and pass laws for the development and welfare of the state.

The experience offered a valuable opportunity to learn about the history and construction of Vidhan Soudha, the role of the legislature, and the principles of democratic governance. Observing the disciplined atmosphere, security arrangements, and the national flag flying with pride gave us a deeper appreciation for our democratic institutions. Students also gained meaningful insights into the duties and responsibilities of elected representatives and how their decisions contribute to the progress and well-being of society.

The excursion transformed classroom learning into a real-life experience, making concepts of governance and democracy more meaningful and easier to understand. It encouraged students to appreciate the values of leadership, public service, and civic responsibility while inspiring them to become informed and responsible citizens.
