Stories took centre stage as our young readers embarked on a delightful celebration of Reading Day on 19th June at NPS HRD—a day dedicated to the magic of words, imagination, and discovery.

From enchanting Kamishibai—the traditional Japanese art of storytelling through illustrated picture cards—shared by a guest storyteller from Scholastic India for Grades 2 and 3, to activities that inspired curiosity and critical thinking, Reading Day highlighted the transformative power of reading.

Grade 5 students were creatively engaged in an exploration of the life and legacy of ‘P. N. Panicker- The Father of Reading’ through a power point presentation. Following which, the students created their own author fact maps.

Grade 1 students were captivated by an in-house Hindi puppet storytelling session, where stories danced to life through colourful characters and expressive narration. Adding their own leaves to a growing "Reading Tree,"

Grade 4 students reflected on memorable books and beloved authors who have shaped their reading journeys.

For every confident reader begins with a child who once fell in love with a story.

"Books are not just pages to be read; they are worlds to be entered, questions to be explored, and dreams waiting to be discovered."
