Onam is an annual harvest festival celebrated in the Southern Indian state , Kerala. A major annual event for Keralites, it is the official festival of the state and includes a spectrum of cultural events. At NPS Hosur Road this festival was celebrated with a plethora of different kinds of program.
The day was embarked by the famous song “maveli naadu vaneedum kalam” sung by our students which conveys the Onam message. The anchors were the guiding light for the audience which helped them stay connected through out the program. The story behind this festival was narrated by the students about the King Mahabali who was the noblest ruler who transformed his kingdom to a heaven-like place .The essence of this festival and its happiness was best conveyed through the song “thiruvavani ravu” and the importance of Onam festival were best explained through a video. The activities by the students across the grades based on the concept of this festival was displayed marking the celebrations. Students conveyed the Onam wishes in different languages added the true spirit of inclusiveness of the festival.
