Environment Week
National Public School, Hosur Road celebrated environment week from 6th June to 10th June 2022.
Keeping in mind the theme ‘One Life One Planet’, for the year 2022-23, a plethora of activities were conducted across the grades.
The primary students of grade 1 & 2 immersed themselves in various art and craft activities which in turn helped enhance their understanding and love toward Mother Earth. They enjoyed the flora of the school garden in the form of a nature walk. They gathered lot of information about medicinal plants while preparing a herbarium, this educated the young minds on the various garden herbs and their medicinal properties.
Grades 3 to 5 indulged in vegetable gardening, educated themselves through art and library activities and the school garden visit helped them to understand more about the variety of plants in their surroundings.
The first ever school Social Warriors were elected from Grades 7-9. Grade 6 and above involved themselves in planting saplings around the school premises along with our social warriors. Art and library activities were conducted that involves making helpful reminders, making a eco man with books, research and presentation on tropical rainforest depletion, endangered and extinct animals, making an environment day pledge, making a documentary, etc.
The whole week had culminated through a documentary witnessing series of environmental factors, human activities that affect the environment and its impact, remedies etc. It was indeed a memorable week watching various age groups caring for Mother Earth.
We conclude our environment week activity with a small thought “Take care of the earth, she will take care of you”.
